BenchNote ("BenchNote", "we", "us", or "our") operates this website and a customer-communication platform used by independent custom shops ("participating shops") to keep their customers updated on work in progress. This policy explains what we collect, how we use it, and your choices.
By using this site or submitting a form, you agree to the practices described below.
Information we collect
Directly from you, when you:
- Join our waitlist (name, shop name, email, phone, state, business details you share)
- Email or text us
Through participating shops, when a shop you do business with uses our platform:
- Your name, phone number, and email as provided to the shop
- Order information the shop enters (a plain-language description of the work, its status, dates, and balance)
- The content of text messages between you and the shop's update line
Automatically, when you visit this site:
- Standard server logs (IP address, browser, pages visited, timestamps)
- Essential cookies from our hosting provider for security and basic functionality
How we use your information
- To deliver order-status updates and answer status questions on behalf of the shop you work with
- To contact waitlist members about beta access (only with your consent)
- To operate, secure, and improve the platform
- To comply with legal obligations
We do not sell your personal information. We do not share it with third parties for their own marketing.
Relationship with participating shops
For order-update messaging, the shop you do business with controls your customer record; we process it on the shop's behalf to send updates and answer status questions. Questions about your order or your record at a specific shop go to that shop first — we'll help route you if you're not sure who to ask.
SMS communications
When you consent to texts, we send order-status updates and replies via SMS on behalf of your shop. Reply STOP anytime to opt out, HELP for help. Message and data rates may apply. Full details: SMS Terms.
Service providers
A small number of providers process data strictly to deliver the service:
- Website and application hosting (Cloudflare)
- Database hosting (Supabase)
- SMS and telephony (Twilio)
- Email delivery (Resend)
- AI-assisted message replies (Anthropic) — status questions are answered using your order's status data; messages are processed to generate the reply

Essential cookies only. No advertising or tracking cookies. If that changes, this page updates first.
Your choices and rights
- Opt out of texts anytime by replying STOP; opt out of waitlist contact by emailing us.
- Request a copy, correction, or deletion of the personal information we hold by emailing hello@benchnote.ai. For shop customer records, we'll coordinate with the shop that controls them.
- State-specific privacy rights (e.g., California, Colorado, Virginia) — contact us and we'll help.
Security
We use reasonable technical safeguards — encrypted transport, row-level access controls in our database, and least-privilege access to systems. No internet transmission or storage is 100% secure, but we work to limit access to the people and systems that need it.
Children's privacy
Our services are for adults and businesses. We do not knowingly collect information from anyone under 18.
